About jahkini

At the age of 18 I had the honour to work at the United Nations as a youth representative. Whilst speaking with thousands of young people throughout the country, they sparked a passion for youth participation and human rights. This is also why I started Jahkini Consultancy after my mandate ended: to make sure all organizations and institutions get to know more about the world of generation Z. This generation is a complex, yet fascinating demographic. They are the consumers of tomorrow, the employees of tomorrow and the leaders of tomorrow. My aim is to let the voice of generation Z be heard, whilst making your business future proof.

I mainly cover a few trends and characteristics of generation Z:
  • Phygital: we are a generation that is constantly switching between digital and physical spaces. What does this mean for the way they communicate with each other and how do they want to be communicated with when trying to attract and retain this next generation?
  • Entrepreneurs: research shows that we are the most entrepreneurial generation so far. How do you make use of this characteristic in order to make gen Z’er bloom and subsequently have your organization benefit from this go-getting attitude.
  • Activist: ‘‘We want to engage in societal and environmental  issues, but do not want to get canceled by gen Z’’, is one of the most common questions we get at WHETSTON. So what is it that this generation expects from organizations specifically, when engaging in such issues?
  • Mental Health: De Covid-pandemic has highlighted how bad the mental health of most young people actually is. What do they hope to find in an employer with regards to mental health and how can you help other generations of managers and team leaders deal with this growing need of their future colleagues?
